SALE TO OHSU CANCER INSTITUTE CAPS SUCCESSFUL SUMMER FOR VIZX LABS
Institutions from Oregon to Britain to Australia now using GeneSifter®
Seattle - September 6, 2005 - The prestigious Oregon Cancer Institute purchased a license for VizX Labs' GeneSifter microarray data analysis system, capping a successful summer for the bioinformatics company. Recent months also saw sales of GeneSifter licenses across the nation and world, plus a Best Practices award and a growing GeneSifter Data Center repository and training resource.
According to Grover C. Bagby, MD, Director of the Oregon Health and Sciences University Cancer Institute, "As a user of gene expression array technology, I find Genesifter to be the friendliest and one of the most valuable personal analytical tools I've used to date."
Dr. Bagby's lab joined many other biomedical researchers across the world in purchasing GeneSifter this summer, including the University of Leeds, the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, the Baylor University School of Medicine, the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, the University of Western Australia and many others. The sales to Western Australia are of note for adding the first VizX customers on that continent, putting GeneSifter users in a total of four continents across the globe.
Additionally, July marked VizX's receipt of the 2005 Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Award for Product Innovation in Drug Discovery Bioinformatics, which described GeneSifter as "a uniquely accessible product solution that stands apart from its competitors," and called attention to the company's GeneSifter Data Center repository and training resource.
