February 27, Seattle - In the midst of another successful quarter, VizX Labs announced the promotion today of Peter C. Roberts, Ph.D. to the position of Director of Science.

Dr. Roberts is responsible for providing scientific leadership at VizX Labs.  He oversees the Scientific and Technical Support Group that provides premier support for the GeneSifter product line.  He works in collaboration with software development to maintain and enhance GeneSifter.  He is also responsible for providing scientific leadership in the company in the development and acquisition of new products and services.

Dr. Roberts has a distinguished background.  Prior to joining VizX, he was Celera Genomics' Senior Manager of Bioinformatics, developing and managing microarray, sequencing and other applications. Previous positions include leadership and scientific roles at divisions of Serono, Genzyme, and the USDA, with his original training in microbiology in both England and here in the States.  He has consulted on genotyping microarray instrument data processing and the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO).  Dr. Roberts received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Montana State University and received his B.Sc. (hons.) from the University of Warwick in Coventry, England.  He is an author on thirteen publications.
